What will give better quality

The fraps I have are VERY high quality ( avi ) but when i finish the movie it's kinda blurry ... (wmv)

but the avi is way too big
so here is my question what will give best quality : use the avi files with wmm and export as wmv.
or make the avi file first wmv and use wmv file with wmm and export as wmv too.

always use the best quality before you export something. so i would go for the avi in wmm and export as wmv

I've been recording my videos at full res (1024 / 768) on fraps and 2 mins of video is like 4gb

I've compressed each part down to about 50mb by using DivX and changing the setting so it's at 16 (half qual, half size) and it's very visible

I play on bigest reso and record with 800*960 40 fps or somthing... very good quality untill i use it in wmm -.-
