    Default Sound Problem

Grrr just in case I needed another problem, I seem to be having a problem with my actual sound now.

I had it before, a week ago or so, but it seemed to fix itself, but now its back and its being persistant.

Basically when I play an mp3 it plays it just *slightly* too fast, so that if you arent expecting it you miss it. So the pitch is slightly too high.

It can be fixed by opening an .avi file, so what the hells going on there?

Onboard sound using MSI's MS-7142 motherboard with AC97 sound on it.

    Any idea guys?

ok took quite a lot of effort to understand that dean :P

    drivers fully updated, for everything.

and f4tman, its an onboard soundcard, on a motherboard no more than 3 months old, I'd be astonished if it had screwed up already
