I haven't signed on since yesterday's new patch, and when I tried to log, my Avast detected a virus immediately from downloading the new patch. I'm usually running KO with avast completely disabled, because it gives me faster loading times and less in game lag. Is this something that my virus scanner just "thinks" is a virus coming from xtrap and just continue to disable it and log? Or is this something that I should seriously be concerned about, and definitely not try to type in my username and password until it is resolved?

Virus is Win32:trojan-gen Virus/WORM (aka password grabber)

edit: I ran a full system scan, and it detected the same password twice, for both times I tried to download the new patch. So its indicating a trojan virus everytime I try to download it.

It was the most recent one, not sure what the exact number it was though. A friend of mine just told me that users with Avast as protection have been having the same issue, and the so called "trojan virus" that its detected is just a cover-up because it doesn't know what to detect it as. So I reinstalled KO, disabled Avast, and it downloaded the patch with no problems.

if you wanna play ko, and keep your anti virus installed you'll need to disable the Residant shield.

You don't have to disable your Resident Shield, take a look at this fix http://www.ko4life.com/forums/index....owtopic=235790

To fix the problem with Avast!, click the resident shield icon and go to the options (the bold text at top). From there, choose the standard shield and click 'adapt' (I guess that's what it reads in English) and chose the sub menu called 'advanced'. There you'll find a list to which you can add file paths that you do not want to get scanned (in this case, only XTrap.xt).

It's because they check your files to see if they are edited. If you have edited files it will bug you, most likely changing your files more. Which looks like a trojan to the scanner.

Or just do what I said and not have this problem again until you change pc/anti virus.
