    Alright,

My computer is currently is running a Nvidia GeForce 9600 GS 768mb
It does the job, heck I can run the latest games on it, but not at the res and qual I'd like.
So anyways, I'm not a total noob about computers, I'm looking for the best gfx card (Preferred Nvidia)
    that my computer can run.

Tell me the information I'll need to provide you (if necessary) and I'll get back to you.

    Thanks,
    Me

    So you have a 9600GT?

You could upgrade to a 9800GT/GTX+ if you only need a 'little' more juice, but if you want to go bigger then get a GTX260/280/295.

Yu need to give us more information though.

Would be easier to know what exact Card that you have since all of them are a bit different, would help me find a mid-range card that will have a nice boost in performance or if you should go with something a little bigger. It would help to know what settings that you run at with what games and how much of a boost in performance that you desire.

The Memory on the Card is not everything.

I run Fallout all on high settings no lag.
KO at full settings at around 120 fps

Tell me any other info you'll need.

Mobo model # and PSU specs.

Or you can just look at your mobo and see if it has 2 X pci E slots.

the best you can put in there ?

nvidia Quadro FX 5800  but that's probably a bit much for just playing games.

you could get a 9800 GX2 or a GTX 280, just look at the official page and see what you like. cause some cards perform like a beast, but their price is comparable with their performance

official nvidia site for desktop cards : http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_family.html

So a GTX 280 is the best my pc can take?
Or can it take a 295?

Also can my pc do sli?
and what is a nvidia quadro fx 5800
I thought the best gfx atm was quad 295 sli or smthn like that.
Okay I read up about the quadro fx 5800,
even though it's the most powerful gfx or close to it.
It doesn't compete with gtx 2xx series cards in-terms of gaming.
and i want a card for gaming.

you can use any GTX card, i'm not sure about sli.

i thought you needed two pci 16 slots to be able to put two gfx cards in sli. so i don't think you can. just google "sli pci slots requirements" or something like that.
