alrite, im thinking of buying a new PC
    with like
    2gb pc6400 ram
    radeon 2600XT 512mb ram

yet im not sure about the CPU

got 100€ more to spend and for this i can get 1 of this 2 cpu's:

    AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ with 2x 2,6 ghz (1mb L2 cache)
    or
    Intel E4400 Core 2 duo with 2x 2,0 ghz (2mb shared L2 cache)

so, any opinions which one is better and plz say WHY
not like "i got the AMD - it rocks" ...

if you are into multi-tasking go with intel, if you want a faster processor go with athlon.

I say fuck duo, go with quad. It's like what 500 dollars? cheap shit

amd was a lot faster and cheaper when we were talking single core cpu's. but they are too for behind of intel atm with multi core cpu's. note that i was a big fan of amd and used to got an amd based system for a long time. but i got intel e6550 now and it rocks.

for you its better to use intel imo. and dont buy e4400 its kinda old and slower on bus speed and core speed. also has low amount of level2 cache. get one at least with 4mb lvl2 cache and 1067mhz bus speed.

amd was fast for gaming; it was never fast for multi tasking.

A computer isn't just for games
