Hey all,

I want to leave my pc on overnight, but the leds are pretty bright, so I just unplugged the fan wires.
How save is it to leave them off?

This is what I got:

Antec 900 Case
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
ATi HD4850
WesternDigital 500gb HD

Wouldn't it turn too hot? From my experience the HD4850 goes the 70 degree celcius easily

buy a new fan without leds ? bout €21 for a very silent 120mm fan.

you could get rid of the leds on the fan, just cut down the wires going to the leds and you're done.

Usually the emergency poweroff triggers on 80C° cpu temp or whatever you set it in bios. check that.

Thats exactly what i would say, and if you do you can just plug them back in?
Unless you mean the LED's on the Fan its self?

The leds are in the fans itself.

i have the same case and i agree the LED's are rediculously bright, worst of all they are very hard to remove without damaging the wiring (the front ones at least)

put a cardboard box over it ?

i got the antec sonata III case :P it only got two small air intakes at the front and the normal ones at the back.

but aren't the leds of those fans on the stationary part of the fan ? i know mine are and i can cut the wires going to the leds quite easily(just put some tape over them so they can't make contact)

You should never unplug colling fans on a PC - less coling more heat - more expensive

Why are you so bothered about the brightness just close your eyes or put a pillow on your face or something
