warned about a fake windows defender ,and it makes u pay or something to clear the viruses u find

yep, it keeps popping up saying your infected (when you aren't) and won't stop till you pay for the subscription, which opens up more ports for trojans to come in.

i couldn't even follow the guides to remove it cos i kept getting the blue screen of DEATH

wow i had that yesterday. reformatted cause i didnt want to deal with the shit too... what did we just all download? KO?

its the xp 2009 virus. becoming more and more prevalent it seems... get vista :P

and i would suggest not using malware to fix it, although it will fix the problem in most cases it also has a tendency to delete noncorrupt registry keys and can itself fuckup your windows install, spybot would be the best bet, and i like avast as well.
