You cant make a GM ban him for that.

Why? 2 main reasons:

1) You have no proof and ur word is not enough.

2) Your friend has the fault for sharing his item to someone else.

Im sorry to hear that but at least i hope your friend learns the lesson... "trust NOBODY if you dont really know them".
