It's not really an arguement lol, you either know it or you THINK you know it. I thought it was 2, and I was wrong because I did not follow

    The correct answer is 288.

Please excuse my dear aunt sally.

48/(2*(9+3)) aint the same as 48/2*(9+3)

everyones getting different answers because everyone is doing 2 different problems. and yes M comes before D in the word PEMDAS. but as far as doing it in an equation you do whatever comes first, going left to right.
as i said im going to continue to bump this until everyone on these forums takes a basic math course.

someone said the original problem has parenthesis around the 2... this is quoted directly from the link musht posted .

    "48÷2(9+3) = ???? "

does anyone see parenthesis around the 2?

    PEMDAS:

Parenthesis - anything inside () or brackets gets broken down to simplest form.
Exponents - anything with exponent gets broken down to simplest form
Multiplication - start from left to right, do mult or divison, whichever comes first.
Division - start from left to right, do mult or division, whichever comes first.
Addition - start from left to right, do add or subtract, whichever comes first.
Subtraction - start from left to right, do add or subract, whichever comes first.

ps. thing start handing out 2 day banhammers for anyone that gets 2 lol. and if they claim they are a genius and still get 2, give them a 7day ban :P

ps2. LOL mino i just looked at your link, that guy banned you lmao.

Obviously that's it, the Parenthesis are really important.
People who think the answer is: 2 in this operation just had to listen more in primary school
    End of the Story.
