I think they did.

The stats did change. I used to kill them by dragging them towards gargoyles with my mage when it was intel using a +8 elixir in the late 60&#39;s level range. I got to 72 after fire drage, and tried again after I went paper which should have allowed me to hit it even harder, but I had to drag it down by gargoyles, up and around the bend by doom soldiers, past evil wizards, and past the DM spawn again before it died. I think the HP has been increased by quite a bit, or their resistances/defense has changed.
