Need a lil help with file converting

i used the iMovie on one of my school's mac computers to make a little video of my friends
i put it on a hard disk and trasfered it over to my computer and the file was a DV file

was wondering if any1 knew how to convert that into a avi file or something compatiable with microsoft's media programs

You can try using this program http://www.avsmedia.com/download/dvs/avsvideotools.exe it is supposed to be able to convert your DV file to many different formats including AVI. I have never used DV files so I can't recommend it, but try & see for yourself. Hopefully it doesn't ask you to buy just to convert -.-
