the guy first asks you to put it for 999mil and then he goes away and tels you to put it for just 999 coins, and then he can pick your item from merchant for 999coins and that means that this is a scamm attempt like everyone already said.

The whole ruse about 999.999.999 was a scam itself. It made the item 999 coins, because the game rounded off 999.9 to just 999 coins. It gave the illusion of a real high number until the game rounded it to 999coins.
