get a velocity micro which cost maybe 1.5-3k and doesn't come with amonitor
its all top of the line, but its so much cheaper just to make your own -_-
this is what i bought:
Gateway Media Center Desktop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6300
(30$ more and they upgraded to a 19" flatpanel monitor)
RADEON X1300
1,200$ and it will satisfy you for all your gaming needs
100fps average on usko
if you want gaming, get one of the newest AMD's, dont go with Pentium for a gaming computer
My advice is WAIT
In March time there will be alot mor direct X 10 hardware about and the sexy quad cores will be alot cheaper.
Direct X 10 is only avaliable for Vista tho
Lets face it there will be a point when we do have to cross over to Vista and knowing microsoft they will make sure it's sooner rather than later.
Agreed, no matter how much it may suck, Microsoft will ensure Vista replaces XP in the general spectrum. Either that or they'll make it so software designed for Vista will not be usable on XP, which will cause software companies to only code for Vista, seeing as its the "new generation".Originally posted by Felix

ofc we'll cross over to vista and i will as well when I know most of the compatibility is fixed, I dont think it'll still be all too nice of an OS in terms of older software by March
i would have to disagree. at this moment the core 2 duo's are by far better and cheaper then any amd equal to it.Originally posted by phantomlink

MMMMmmmmm quad core! B)
As the other said, custom make a machine with tones of ram, a real good graphics card (maybe even 2 of them) and a good cpu.
Try not to run too many memory hogging programs on it and use another machine for your d/l's (if u d/l)...
16ghz cpu
20gb ram
and 5gb gfx card
its pwnage
you can get 16gb of RAM when you build a Apple Mac ProOriginally posted by camaz0tz
