Anti-virus companies hire people who create viruses (If they're any good). So i guess you're half-right.

b-b-b-b-bullshit. I've used windows through out years, reformated at least once every 2months never, ever, had any sort of virus on any of my HDDs. I'm sorry but the internet clearly isn't idiot proof enough for people like you.

Then again, why would it be. People fall for just about everything, hence the sudden increase of trojans/worms/spyware and other shits.
    Thank God for Linux.

my cousin once bought a BRAND NEW desktop (not a refurbrished one). Before ANYTHING was installed and before ANYTHING even happened, we plugged in the internet cable and modem and the internet connected, and then literally 2 seconds later, there were 50 porn advertisements, and shit lol.

i always wondered what happened back then lol

I had once this son of a bitch which was an icon in the right corner. It installed the "anti"-virus programm, made a check and found trojans which weren't there.

It looked like a special programm to me, which will just give you the results which aren't of your computer

You are fucking morons. I've spent months without antivirus and/or anti spywares, and nothing ever infected my PCs because I knew what to browse and what not to browse, and same with what to download. If you share your computer with other people that don't know, you are bound to get fucked. If your ISP is an asshole that sucks at providing service, you are gonna get fucked. If you watch the worst porn sites accepting all the ActiveX, you will get fucked.

    Internet 101 : Don't be an idiot.

And on the topic. Why would antivirus companies pay people to make viruses and trojas, when there's already people making them for free? Shit, there's even software to develope your own computer virus with all the caracteristics you'd like it to have, working the same way as ordering a fucking burguer. 'Can I get some 'Spread through MSN' with 'doesn't appear on task manager' on the side please?'

Internet Explorer, ActiveX -> wrong sites -> you're fucked.

Easy as that, after all.. It's always the human stupidity. I've never had a single virus on my PC. I've been connected to the internet for over 10 years now, at least 8 or 9 of those 10 years I've not been using any anti virus and/or firewall applications. Get a decent router and some common sense and you'll be fine.
