Thing that pisses me off the most in here is someone saying that you can't spell for shit and make mistake while stating that fact. It's just ridiculously dumb. And yeah, I agree that anyone who is from an english based country should be able to talk/type well or at least try to. Other than that it just makes you look incredibly stupid. (I live in a french province in Canada and I can guarantee 85% of the people that live in here can't even say more than a hundred words in english. They are stubborn individues that want to stay with their culture, without going any farther, which is imbecile in my opinion.)

evilwevel; Than is used to compare, remember that.

Yes, and the first impression won't be a very good one unless you walk up to someone and say "I speak English, y Español, e Italiano," then perhaps you might not seem thoroughly uneducated or anything of the sort.[/b]
Ok little buddy, i guess you and me judge people for completely different reasons. But then again, i guess you dont make mistakes while speaking other languages.

If i meet some one from lets say germany (allmost none speak perfect spanish, specially while pronunciating tricky words), i would never think poorly of such person for not speaking perfect spanish. I just wouldnt.

I make mistakes all the time. But, the difference is, I correct them and move on. Nothing about grammar in many languages is overly hard, it's just small points that need to be remembered. I guarantee though, I don't make the same mistake many times, with the exception of the two different forms of past tense in Spanish... They're a bitch.

Anyone who judges you for not speaking perfect English is a complete imbecile. If you are from another country which English is not the main language then I don't expect you to speak perfectly. Now, if they were from America or a country with English as their primary language then yes, I would think maybe they dozed off a little bit to much during English class. However, because your bilingual does not make you stupid, in fact people who know different languages tend to have a higher IQ.

I always help Frankie with his homework for his English classes but I do not think he is stupid or immature in any way, there is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. People who judge others just because they never learned proper English are the ones who are truly incompetent.

I can definitely respect the fact that he is bilingual (perhaps polyglot would be a more appropriate term, given the third language) and am not insulting him. I'm saying that someone that knows the language should not just ignore the rules of the language because they're lazy. That doesn't change the fact though, that people do take the first impression on someone's language skills and immediately judge their intelligence from that, regardless of their past. It's a bad practice, but there isn't much that we can change. I've seen someone go through the same sort of discrimination and it's not much fun, but it's the way things are in the US.

Another reason why you shouldn't make fun of people who cant speak English well, as this young lady learned.

<span style="font-family:Georgia">I asked my mom to read the essay I had written for my English class before I graduated, she said she didn&#39;t believe I had written it, because she never hears me speak the way I had typed the paper.

My dad&#39;s Mexican and can speak good English, but his thick accent makes it hard to see how smart he actually is. Gotta spend some time with someone before you can really understand how smart they really are.

The only people who don&#39;t like people saying funner, are the people who want to separate themselves to make them seem mature from the millions of 10 year old kids who watch Fred videos on youtube.
