This might be a good paragraph to talk about...one thing I do recommend is do not resort to plagiarism. Try to dissect the paragraph and come up with your own conclusion. You could talk about how religion affects people morals, and decisions.

You'll be amazed how often the theists say to the atheists and the agnostist that if God exist, they will go to heaven and the atheist goes to hell, but if God does not exist, there is nothing to lose.

And of course, most theists believe that their religion of choice is the one and only true path to God, almost all other paths are false and lead to damnation.

There are many wars being fought because of these differences in opinions, something that is not likely to change anytime soon.

Many religions appear to be exclusive, a followers loyalty and worship of a particular deity or deities in a certain fashion, appear to be the fundamental requirement of these religions and their Gods rather than the moral decency and character of a person.

In other words, it doesn't matter how moral, decent and nice you are, If your not a member in that elite club, you will be eternally damned.

That's why there are people who subcribe to all known religions on this planet to play it safe, just in case.

Is that how God operates or is it just us humans?....

I think other people covered the main areas. Religion is just a part of irrational thinking. It is a form of mental illness, Freud discusses this a lot. It retards progress, causes social harm and can be used to abuse children. Religion is an evolutionary byproduct of our ignorant past that we do not need anymore. The problem with the modern world is that many people survive in this world without needing to understand it. They get on planes without understanding how an aerofoil works, they use electricity without understanding how it is generated, and likewise they make grand claims about the nature of the universe without understanding anything about science. The personal god concept has been thoroughly destroyed. Religion died centuries ago and yet millions of people still believe in it. Everyone wants an explanation, and most people are too arrogant to admit they don't know. The explanations for our world are becoming so complex and require a level of conceptualisation so vast that many people simply cannot understand it, which leaves the gap for religion: a much simpler (and more comfortable) explanation.

There are of course people who understand science yet hate the idea of a world where they are insignificant and irrelevent. They want meaning and hope, and to know that someone cares for them. As House would say, they are idiots. Some people would prefer to be comfortable than to know the truth unfortunately.

I think that there is nothing more dangerous than believing you have a divine moral authority. Many christians often ask "But what stops you from killing and raping if you don't believe in hell?", being oblivious to the fact they are freely admitting that they are not capable of self-moralising. We are animals afterall, some of us have evolved to recognise the benefits of social cooperation, and sadly many of us cannot survive without guidance like a bunch of pathetic babies.
