    Thanks for thinking of me.

Fortunately, we have freedom of speech in this country and the media puts out the interviews that bring in the interest, I am sure the rest of the people in line would say the average boring political rhetoric.

I doubt our population is any more or less stupid then yours. Of course, you never mention all the science, medicine, entertainment, inventions, ad infinitum, nor do you mention the great schools of higher learning here in the good ol' dumb US of A. But then again, you aren't one of those naive drones who believes everything they read and see in YOUR media...are you? I'll just keep looking for the sarcastic and openly overt negative USA posts while nearly everything you own has some American connection to it, heaven forbid you ever get sick and use our idiotic medicines, vaccines, or advanced surgeries to help you or your loved ones.

On a real note, the "people" elected Obama with the hope that there would be something better then the last 8 years of the Redneck Mafia (aka, the puppet known as Bush, Jr.). Everyone here was sick about what he did in Iraq and his using 9-11 as an excuse for his dad's agenda (also known as the oil agenda, read about their influence in the world going back to Standard Oil). I read about Obama before he came into office but I wasn't happy with either candidate. I even got in arguments with friends and family who voted for "change" without looking into who Obama's mentors were. However, it is quite apparent now to even the most die hard Democrat that Obama is, in fact, a full blown commie (like his mentors). He is a sellout to the boys who put him in office, and I am sure your politicians aren't anything like ours (wink).

It's good that you are keeping up with our politics, though, and showing such a strong opinion while you are at it. Most people want to see the USA suffer and go down even harder in flames...but then the ones with any sort of knowledge in the subject of world economics realizes what an impact that would have on themselves and their own countries and has a second thought about what they wish for.

I look forward to your next intellectually stimulating post, can't wait for you to enlighten the stupid with your pearls of wisdom.

There is a growing divide between the intellectual elite and the ignorant masses in every country. It just happens to be a bit bigger in the USA (like everything else). I used to be a staunch believer in democracy when I was younger but democracy requires informed decision making and I am worried that we are getting to the stage where millions of people are not capable of making informed decisions. The original democracy envisioned by the ancient greek cynics put power in the hands of a small council of elected scientists and philosophers, I think this form of government is superior to modern forms of democracy which are vulgar appeals to populism. We cannot afford to grant stupid people any responsibility of such magnitude.

I personally think that science/maths/critical thinking should be compulsory in schools until the age of 18, and you should have to graduate that class to be eligible to vote. It sounds elitist but it is in the best interests of society. I can't watch the news or read a newspaper anymore without despairing at the hopeless idiocy of millions of my fellow citizens, whose stupid views unfortunately hold as much sway as my own. A few days ago there was a debate on TV here about whether or not fairies exist. At first I thought it was a BrassEye-type satire but it quickly dawned on me that it was real. I don't really care if you wanna call them stupid, uninformed or mentally ill, they shouldn't be voting. Anyone who does not possess the ability to think critically does not deserve to be listened to.

I agree with many of the points here, however, I think too much credit is given to what people consider "democracy" and in fact the USA was not originally set up as one but as a Republic (for the exact reason that so many were so uneducated). I don't think most people understand this, in any country. And a republic only works where those who are educated have the moral fortitude to look after the welfare of the people they are supposed to serve.

But more to my point is that despite having a "vote" we do not elect the candidates, those are elected by the electorate. The whole process is corrupt and rarely, and I mean rarely, do we have any candidate who is truly "for the people." When we do get one he rises to mediocre status in the system and it's very few and far between. It may be a joke to some of you, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of those true "for the people" politicians. He doesn't even draw pay for what he does. He is blasted on all fronts because he says what truly needs to change in order to get out of the dwindling spiral of the California Economy. CA has the 7th largest economy in the entire world vs countries, not states or cities. When Arnold tells the unions (socialists) that the $300k the police chief is making, or the $150k the nurses are making, is bankrupting the state, he gets attacked from all sides (even having nurses say that he should hope he never gets sick and needs their care!). He will probably never get any further in politics for the simple fact that he does not tow the party line and does not pander to special interest groups, and that is what makes politics what it is.

Ultimately, others can judge our system of government, hate the stupid, delight in our failures, but I promise you, the quality of life here is far better then most places in the world and anyone, anyone has a chance at success and a better life in this country. There is a reason so much art, innovation, entertainment and milestones come from the USA, and where dreamers are aloud to follow their dreams, advancement and creation flourish.

Other then the reporter having some type of a.d.d. that involves excessive lip licking and blinking , whats really funny is some of these things are actually accurate . I'd take the time to explain further ; how many changes democrats have made to marshal law and how many times legislation is proposed in favor of partial birth abortion or the simple fact that its basically not illegal based on the mothers mood .

However I would be waisting my time on people like zero and magyk who base there views on america off of ambush journalism and heavy editing .

...or that time that uncle jim was staying at your house when u were twelve after he got out of prison just until he could land on his feet and he came in ur room that one night, climbed into bed and spooned you. then he reached around and put his hand down ur pajamas and breathed heavily on the nape of your neck. his warm breath stinking of alcohol gave u the chills. u knew something terrible was about to happen but were to scared to scream.

Could of sworn that iv always based my opinions on my own reasoning, heavy facts and general european arrogance, not on 2 hilarious youtube videos.

In this current palin fans matter, its mostly the 3rd one speaking. Maybe its even the main factor on all cases, since its kinda hard for everyone to see a larger pic, if ur sitting ur thumb up ur arses inside the very issue.

For once id like some european topics. Heres a subject: old commy catherine ashton

It's funny to see the so-dubbed "smart" leftists bash America's right wing based on most likely heavily edited recordings at a book signing of all things. Who's really the brainwashed one? At least they have an opinion.
