A huge rock has to travel a million miles before it hits and you won't have time to care? LOL. Tthe fear of pain is worse than the pain itself, so who cares if you don't feel it physically, the mental side of this impending doom as you look at the sky will more than make up for it.

Depending on the density and makeup of the asteroid, the damage could be less, more, or equivalent to what is displayed. It's supremely entertaining how everyone here will get involved in a game -- a construct of the imagination with very little to no basis in reality -- so willingly but will fail to take hypothetical situations at face value.

Without being a specialist i'd say a rock that big would just go through earth and make a huge hole not just break it into pieces :rollseyes:

With alot of speed and density it's possible, but that type of speed is unlikely. It would be cool to live on a planet with a hole in it though. At least until we died from lack of ozone and from being thrown off the orbital path that sustains the delicate balance of life. ^_^
