newb question about labtop

im kinda new to this but if a labtop closes because it batteries ran out does it close all the application that were opened?

i dont think its the laptop but the operating system or the software.
In xp if your laptop crashes, word can determine that the document closed by force so it saves a recovery file.

I know in vista if you shutdown modzilla, (its probably just the new modzilla), if your computer crashes or you shutdown without closing the window, the next time you open modzilla, it can restore where you were.
