The "No" wasn't directed to his "math".He said 7Mbits=0.8750MB, wich is the same comparison as 8Mbits = 1MB so he was right.
And ur download speed depends on many factors besides ur "speed" that its stated in ur contract. Depends where you are downloading from, and your company maybe guarantees you a minimum % of your total speed purchased. Here in Peru "Timofonica" guarantees us only the 10% of the speed contracted.[/b]
just download anything from www.microsoft.com and check your speed, microsoft's servers always give you full speed, and yeah your speed should be 7/8= 0.875 as they mentioned it
It can be that expensive..... Also I make more then you for like another... 10 years h34r:It would take the three of our incomes combined to get even a small apartment in Tokyo >_<[/b]
your advertised linespeed does not take into account your distance from the local exchange. The further away you are, the more noise on the line and the less bandwidth you get. It is almost impossible to get the maximum advertised bandwidth unless you live next door to the exchange and have quality cabling. It's the same with the really high bandwidth ISP's in sweden or japan, the only difference is they have optical cabling to every house rather than just on the central pipes so the bandwidth ranges are much higher.
