thats true, it was a couple thousand verse around 300 SPARTANS, the spartans though also had around an extra 3000 troops by their side, but not as well trained. they fought the persians who didnt want to fight them in hand to hand combat anymore, so they just killed all the spartans and their allies with a barrage of arrows. but 1 million against 300.....pfft come on thats so fucking hollywood.

yes it is an exaggerated number however don't dismiss the incredible odds the spartans were against. Read up on it -

the number of persian troops is commonly known to have been exaggerated by the victors of the battle, nothing new historically. i think the real ratio was something like 20:1 which is still impressive but you would expect any army to win with the terrain and equipment advantage the greeks had.

this film just looks like another poor pretender to the classic "Zulu" featuring the best army in the world during the time of the best empire in history.

I saw the movie and it was fucking great. The action scenes were awesome however if you're expecting this to actually be historically accurate don't bother. The visuals were amazing however the story may have fell flat if you didnt know the actual story of the real battle considering most of the movie consists of fighting. However some of the story parts are quite good though.

saw it, fucking amazing......great story, although it isnt historically accurate, it is a good story, and fight scenes were one of the best ive ever seen. great light usage, and weather. great angles with the camera. its just OMG GGGGGGGG FUCK ME PLZ!
