I decided to take some time out of my day to respond to each and every one of these arguments. I do not believe in redbluegreen44's point entirely however
- I immaging that the threat of terroristic acts occuring within the boundries of the United States has dropped dramatically since the security measures taking since 9/11. However, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. While the the war in Iraq has given the people a chance at democracy, they do not believe in the principal of this American freedom- anyone can become something through hard work. If the terrorists want to blow up themselves - then go ahead, leave the innocent people out of it. As one of my favorite comedian/philosophers said, "They should add this to their books: Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyselves." Sadr, dubbed "The Most Dangerous Man in Iraq" was revered as a child that loved to play Atari. Since he was given his father's status after he died, he has since refined his personality to become the man that is responsible for some of the insurgence.
- Reduction of civil liberties? Like? I have not had a difference in my life style other than the memory of the falling towers before or after 9/11. If you're talking about unauthorized telephone tappings for suspected individuals, inspection of bank and utility records without warrant, seizing assets and to suspend driving and professional licenses on an allegation of indebtedness (ex. You owe a casino money but refuse to pay them, you can go to prison); then you hit the the nail with your hammer. This law tells you that if you're a cunt, then they'll put you in jail. I like to call this the "tearing away from the bible act." As you know, way back when in the early 11th century, Christians were not allowed to lend money to other Christians unless they paid them back in equal amount (no interest). So no christians lent it because the Law didn't enforce this unless they made the loan in the prescence of an official. So the christians in need of money ventured to the ghettos (where the jews were segregated) and lent the money with interest expected in return because it wasn't against their religion.
- Whatever was done with the voting machines was not intentional. There was a recount after machines malfunctioned by hand twice.
- We only need to endure 2 years of debt before a President less naive than Bush enters the office. (on a personal note, I can't believe we have spent as much as we have on muslims.)
- We have our own intrinsic supply of oil, which you were implying that we need. Last time I checked, the oil debate was out six months ago. We're putting more money in than getting back.
- Those Christian groups are plain retarded. No one is forced to watch the news, I don't watch it that often. I read Newsweek magazine almost every week. Tobacco firms are to remain because the tobacco farmers would be poor - one arguing against the point would say. However I believe that nothing good comes from tobacco other than the taxes they must pay. For now, they and most of the other firms mentioned give money to the government, without which we may not be able to continue the war.
-Human rights violations? Our form of torture is the most humane possible. What is it you ask? Sleep deprivation. How are we going to extract information from people we catch? Hold them until they talk? But Allah will smite them where they stand. People mistreating other people in iraq, be military personel, will be court martialed and punished when-if reported
- As of now, it's the people's decision whether or not to reduce their consumption of greenhouse gases. B. Clinton met with billionaire buisnessmen and convinced them to change to green in november, using models of companies in (I believe) Denmark - no more energy consumption, no less renevues, less polution.
