Basically this topic is relative to the purpose of advertising. Do you want someone coming into your topic and marking down your item while you take the time to bump it? I think not.

In examples 1 and 2, Person A is the topic creator.

EX1. Person A is selling an object for 30 dollars. Person B decides to come into the topic and says "I'm selling the item for 25 dollars, send me a PM."

EX2. Person A is buying something for 30 dollars. Person B comes in and says "I'll pay 35 dollars for that same item."

I think It's a good idea, although I do like the bumps. But It is just an invitation to spam. But ya, I voted yes.

It would have a button on the topic that would say "Allow other users to post in this topic" I guess I omitted that statement in my final draft.

I don't see the need for replies to trade posts.
PMs can be used for arranging the trade and the seller/buyer can always edit the post with c/o if he so wishes.
In that case you could also stop the original poster from posting rerplies, since there wont be anything to reply to. In which case everyone would be forced to use the bump function.

On the other hand if this is indeed implemented, we will need increased space for PMs.

I think most of you are missing the point. You would have the option to prohibit others from posting in your topic, all it is is a matter of a forum mod installing a mod that allows that to happen.
