yeah +1 on this one, theres a lot of these on other forums, and people can alert each other when servers are up thru the shoutbox.... but it would take a lot more bandwith right?
I think its been talked about before. I think one of the reasons is it will be to much bandwith.
And the idiots that will spam the shit out of it

IPB shoutboxes are...crap at the very best
they work best with vbulletin from my experience
then on top of that the community of ko4life is too large for a SB to even work...even without spam there would be so much talking itd be hard to have a coherent conversation
then there are also the side effects that posting would drop down to nearly nothing because everyone would just talk in the SB instead
if u want a chatbox go to IRC or something =\ this is a forum
not bandwidth exactly would put more load on the server

Exactly. You can use KODB's Java IRC client to connect to IRC if you don't want to download mIRC yourself.
