I was wondering which pet is the best for a lvl 51 Hunter?

Cat offers highest dps

Scorpid is good for pvp as it stacks poisons which lets you drain mana

yeh on my noobeh hunter im using the white lion, fun.

yeah cat good exp, ther are a few cats who can juse stealth they are fun
nad scorpion good pvp cause poison stack

if you get to level 70 raid content and you have the G.F.T.T talent a thunderhawk will offer you the best dps, as its attack "lightning breath" scales best with attack power and i belive its an instant cast with no cool down (witch also makes it a very nice focus dump for BM hunters)

King Bangalesh, B'agethera or w/e in STV. Elite Cat is wat i use for lvl'n n works great, decent in pk also ^^ if u r alliance then i duno where they r.

ther are also panthers who can go in stealth in stv
and in outlands ther are also one who can go in stealth but you must be 67 to tame then
