Why do you love your character?

So everyone's avatar is an individual and represents the player in Azeroth, but why do you guys like your characters so much? I'm writing a paper on this and wondering, is it because the you get to act how you want through your WoW character, or because they look cool? Obviously, there's no wrong answer. For me I like my character because he's essentially the fantasy version of me. Anyways, if anyone could give their opinions on their personal characters in WoW that would be great, thanks.Why do you love your character? thanks.

I've quit quite some time ago but I'll still answer to your question. I never "loved" my characters. They were just.. virtual toons that I randomly made.
Though they do hold some nostalgic value because of the time I've spent on them. Quitting the game is never easy when you've spent days/weeks/months/years building up your character.
So in a way you can get attached to them but I never really liked my characters more than as tools. The game is what kept me addicted, not the characters I had.
