theres a tool labeled "create new fill or adjustment tool", you should use it to make final touches, like changing colors or brightness/contrast.

Necross told me these sites and they've been pretty useful

http://www.deviantart.com great source of brushes and renders (images removed from their backgrounds, you can use them to make backgrounds). this also has some .psd files of sigs, you can download them and see all the layers to see how they did everything. (they have a resources section, you can check out everything they have for photoshop)
