I like the picture but I cant find a suitable background so I tried just a texture. All the background effects I tried looked like shit when I put it in.

well i like the idea of the font , smuding or bluring the render can't be possible here cause its so dark , why don't u seek other renders with several focal points wich u smudge behind the render ?
give it a try
