A good estimation is 20%, but anvil can be very evil and random, so just having 5 +7's doesn't guarantee a +8, I'd suggest getting close to 10!

BS, i had 30 +7 and 6trina 1 made it to +8, you have a bigger % chanse on a lower class item.

i know this is completely different
but i used tears of kardis and took 3 shards +7 reverse to +8 in a row. didnt break anything.
(then i got cocky and burnt my md +6 reverse to +7 lol, shhhh)

one day 10 items with 10 trinas 2 went to 8
one day 10 items with 10 trinas 0 went to 8
one day 16 items with 0 trinas 3 went to 8

i'd say you have somewhere between 10-20% chance with trina and about 5-7% without
