I think he did more than attempt to "infect" her, and in fact suceeds in tearing the vitals out of her throat. I think it&#39;s the physical damage that finished her.

Movie was pretty good. It had more action and focused more on the bigger picture of the outbreak, which was good but also bad because the first focused heavily on character development.
