Sure it is the creator tolkien just has created a fantasy world with sooooooooooooooooo much details dont know where to begin dont know how to explain the thoughts which he had in his head thats amazin maan

if you mean in movies, yea ofc you are right. when it comes to fantasy you wont find any better storylines. tolkiens lotr together with silmarillion (my very favourite) and hobbit are pure foundations of modern fantasy. the fact that peter jackson did sucha outstanding job with lotr trilogy is undeniable. tho there are still some novels which havent been taken into movies which might be solid opponent for lotr storyline ( f.e. asimov's foundation, king's dark tower or herbert's dune etc )
so far lotr owns, together with star wars and matrix i gotta say
