This was even worse than casino royale, got my hopes up it&#39;ll be somewhat of a bond movie.. But hell, there&#39;s absolutely no James Bond "flare" in either of them. i agree. i dont like this new james bond which is why i refuse to spend me 12 bucks to watch this movie. I rather what rolemodel or X and Y makes a porno! He doesnt have the classy james bond feel that pierce bosman (sP?) had. he blows chunks

From the reviews I&#39;ve heard, this and Casino Royale are much different than the other Bond Movies, and kind of disappointing, still going to go see it just because I love 007. I&#39;ll edit this post with my take on it on Friday I guess D:

they already released an article saying that Daniel would no longer be like the other James Bond&#39;s and that they were in the past. He would no longer say "the names Bond, James Bond" nor will he say that martini thing "shaken not stirred". Nor will he be wearing the old suits anymore, which i think is all retarded....

Just saw this movie last night, very good! Not as good as Casino but still very enjoyable.

The reason you do not see all the gadgets and old cheesy sayings has to do with something in Hollywood called "Jumping the Shark." This goes back to Happy Days when Fonzie was going to jump a shark lol. It was so outrageous that everyone tuned in to watch this dramatic episode. After it was over and the hype died down, so did the ratings for the show. They couldn&#39;t do anything else. Well, this effect was later coined and most tv shows and movies try to stay away from a similar effect.

If anyone remembers the one bond movie where they are driving around in an invisible car with neon glowing ice, etc. this was the considered the most over the top, outrageous and even stupid bond film of all time. Many Bond films were a little cheesy but that one was sooo far out there that people considered it Bonds "Jumping the Shark." So they cleaned house and started fresh. Bond now is not as "pretty-boy," he&#39;s more gritty, a lot rougher and a lot less bs. I like it but I also miss all the old toys.
