i hate dean koontz, ive never read any of his books, but the amount of space he takes up in most book stores is just rediculous. lol.

anyway a good book for you would be a classic, Crime & Punishment

if u like fantasy i really love peter v. brett's painted man and desert spear novels, the last one of this trilogy is unfortunately not up yet, but first two books are really great

Douglas Kennedy : The Big Picture. Set in Montana in the Rockies and unbelieveably atmospheric and page turning.

London Fields : Martin Amis. As with all of Kingsley Amis' sons books, very dark and thought provoking.

Money : Martin Amis. As above, modern classic about everything that is wrong with society and greed.

The Beach : Alex Garland. Million times better than the god awful film.

The Tesseract : Alex Garland : 3 seperate stories that run at the same time which eventually all crash into each other with a completely unlikely outcome.
