I think halo is so famous because its one of the only good shooters thats came out for a console, and since most people are not willing to spend 1000$+ for a good pc to play alot of good shooters they pick up the xbox and halo because its cheaper. Halo is a great game, but is to over hyped. There are shooters for the pc that are atleast just as good.
