I'm disappointed nobody mentioned Naruto Shippuden :/
It's not always about action and fun. I don't really like it because the art looks bad and the story is very generic shounen type. It's one of the less-mature shounen shows out there. I have nothing against people liking it, since a lot of people like simple fun. But I personally enjoy intelligent and psychological shows that explore human mind and behavior. The only shounen I watch are "Nanatsu No Taizai" and "Fairy Tail". And FT simply has an amazing soundtrack and a good art style. Also, some of the chapters are rather interesting even though it's a simple show with not that much depth.
I see where you're coming from and I guess Naruto is not your taste after all,but I don't agree that you think it's not intelligent enough and is ''less-mature''. I personally learned a lot from it life wise, motivates me and it really does touch my feelings. ^^It's not always about action and fun. I guess you do know what you're talking about then, yeah it's not everyone's taste.I watched right until naruto was gonna get trained by the bad rapper jinchuriki (spelling?)
Because I happened to be watching something else at the same time, that's when I discovered how poor naruto was in its writing.
Some of my favs were already mentioned e.g by Kallop.
As for few more, personally (i'm playing volleyball and basketball ever since i was like 5 years old so i might be subjective) i kinda like sport animes / mangas too:
-Slam Dunk (It was made in the 90s, so not rly matching with today's standards therefore there is a good chance that you wouldn't like it) [it's a basketball one]
-Kuroko No Basket ----> Basketball one again, manga already ended last year at september (there is a sequel manga running atm, tho it only publishes at every 2nd months, so far 2 chapters only, called Kuroko No Basket Extra Game), anime's 3rd season is ongoing [Currently at 12th episode, will have 26 in total and most likely that will be enough to finish the serie (previous 2 season had 25 episodes each)]. The anime is kinda well made imo, tho if you aren't rly into these sport mangas then won't rly like it.
-Haikyuu ---> Volleyball one. So far only 1 season (25 episodes) was aired, the manga is ongoing, season 2 anime scheduled to october 2015.
That's it for the sport ones.
-An additional one: "Attack on Titan". Personally i don't rly like it that much but my GF is kinda into it so might some1 else here would like it aswell. So far 1 season anime was aired and manga is ongoing aswell [1x ~50 pages chapter at every month]. Story in few words: 100 years before the story starts humanity was attacked and almost totally destroyed (eaten) by big ass titans (~5m up to 15-20meter ones alongside with 1-2 even bigger). Then the remaining of the mankind misteriously built up cities surrounded by 3x immense wall, lived in peace for 100 years then a collossal titan appears, crack the 1st wall, titans get inside and the gang-bang starts.....
Well normally i'd agree, tho appearently plenty of them indeed "lives in a cave", since i met quite a few who actually didn't hear about it, therefore felt like mentioning it wouldn't hurt.
Cannot really be helped
Btw heard about the upcoming movie adoption? Idk, they better not screw it up.
