I'd go for Wangan Midnight (Wangan Midnight - MyAnimeList.net)
You can find anime recommendations based on the animes you like on that website.

    Thanks bud

Really amazing site , I normally only chat with Phantom about Anime because I like the old-school stuff like Laputa " Castle In The Sky" and Spirited Away ( well oldschool director ).

I thought there would be much more on street racing , espcally with Initial D being a Hong-Kong based production and faily low budget compaired to the more main stream stuff. I'm downloading a few episodes now , were there any done with an English dub?

Amigo, if you have msn/yahoo/skype/steam/whatever throw me a PM. I'll gladly help you out with anime stuff.
As for your question.. No I don't think there is an english dub for it.. I doubt FUNimation will pick up a non-mainstream anime.

I'm on episode 18 now and really enjoying it now. Just a shame there no more street racing or contempery car based anime out there.

That certainly is a genre that's hard to find. But maybe we can find you another genre you'll enjoy.
    I added you btw.

On my iPad ATM so will log msn later.

I watched "Redline" last night and was disappointed with it.

If there are good anime that say are set in the present and have good action. Does manga and anime cover the same thing?

youll find more manga over animes truthfully as not everything thats written is converted and gets an animation also stories like initial d have more manga chapters compared to its anime counterpart

    Latest Release(s)
    v.41 c.590-591 by Club Carisma (60d ago)
    v.41 c.587-589 by Club Carisma (104d ago)
    v.41 c.584-586 by Club Carisma (144d ago)

    Status in Country of Origin
    43 Volumes (Ongoing)

    Completely Scanlated?
    No

    Anime Start/End Chapter
Ends at Vol 32, Chap 423
this quote is comparing initial d's manga vs anime in terms of where they start/end as you can see the manga is still an ongoing work and has over 100 chapters on the anime

sadly though for other street racing/drifting series for mangas i really couldnt find anything that had active scanlations :S theres also not much that follow its genre either which is "Action/Drama/Seinen/Sports

if you do get into mangas gl finding series youll like as a lot of them are hit and miss

Depending on manga and anime. Sometimes anime skips some things or adds some additional shizzle. But most of the time it's goes pretty much according to the manga.

You should check out Berserk and Hellsing.
I made my older brother watch those and he loved them even though he doesn't like anime at all.

It's watchable if you're into that stuff.
Like I already mentioned, you should check out Berserk and Hellsing.
Another good one is Black Lagoon, I really enjoyed it.
There's also Gun Grave which is a story of two friends who want to climb up to the top of this powerful mafia family, you might wanna check that out as well.
