Not always, sometimes the animé leave out a lot of stuff compared to the manga, so sometimes the manga is better

No, I haven't read the manga, but I've watched some of the animé, but dropped it, as it didn't suit my taste

cause they're made from "awakened ones", just imagine that claymores r made from yoma, but since these abysal feeders r made from awakened ones they're way stronger, especially regeneration-wise.

[spoiler]islay was defeated... but even for a person created from yoma he wished he couldve stayed with the small family he had made w/ raki and priscilla even if one day it wouldve fallen apart
