Fairy Tail has now over 180 episodes and believe it or not it has some very sad scenes. (I will seal away your darkness. - Ur)
SAO had some sad moments.. At least the first time I watched it.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica wasn't bad but I don't think it was that sad either. Watching Clannad atm. Finishing it up today and checking out 'After Story' later.

Edit: Finished Clannad lol. I know I have no life. Or at least this shit called life is extremely simpleminded and boring. Anyway.. I don't really see Clannad as that sad either. It had a kind of a sad or how should I put it.. Somehow happy mixed up with sadness atmosphere? I couldn't really figure what it was. It was like a happy story with a happy ending but the atmosphere was kind of melancholic due to the soundtrack. Oh well it was alright 3/5.

Quite frankly I don't even remember that part... 9th was one of the few better characters, but I still disliked Mirai Nikki. Tried too hard IMO, some parts were just silly and it was hard to feel even the slight sense of sadness for such a shallow and one dimensional cast of characters.

Meanwhile I loved clannad. Some time ago I noticed that it was cheap how they managed to get the viewer so attached to the characters and then have them endure tragedies, that would surely move anyone... but still, I recognize it was solid and endearing, no matter what means they used to accomplish said effect It'll probably be my #1 anime forever ._.

Madoka doesn't seem that sad until you rewatch it (1st and 2nd movie are an easy and kind of necessary way to do it). Then the 3rd one is just magnificent.

Weird. Markus asked me to watch Mirai Nikki and I kind of liked it. Then again I pretty much love any kind of anime with blood, murder and psycho people. Baccano! and Shingeki No Kyojin as great examples :3

Tragedies? I can't recall any real tragedy from Clannad.. Except for Kotomi's story and Tomoyo's brother. But that was quite easy to digest IMO. I still haven't watched 'After Story' but I've heard it's quite sad so I have great expectations for it. We'll see if I'll cry for the first time in 11 years Still looking for the greatest story ever told which could achieve that.

I gotta watch Madoka's 3rd movie so bad! I just never seem to have the time and motivation to do so for some reason. I'm always watching something else and prioritizing everything over it :/

Must say Clannad isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I kind of like it although at times I feel like punching my monitor because people are stupid. I was so fucking mad at Mei and Sunohara cuz the dude has the dumbest sister in the world lol. But overall the whole atmosphere is quite enjoyable. I'll try and finish it up today.
