    Default Sword 2

Its the same thing as sword of the new world. I decided to make a new topic so i could update information about the game as it progresses. If u don't like k2 and don't like sword of the new world, no1 is forcing you to read this!

Sword 2 ( other versions go by the name Granado Espada) ; sGE also has decent english community, so if you hate G1 you can play sGE

in swords there are raids, faction wars, and clan wars for pvp unless u join a pk server so its a lot of fun for me atleast. there are like 21 colonies(similar to mini csws, and by controlling them ur clan gets benefits and advantage over other clans) where clans control them and declare war/defend against other clans during clan wars. You control 3 characters at once and its not turn based. there are other unique characters that u can get called UPCs (such as martial artists) from doing quests. Faction wars are fought between republicans and royalists. Sword 2 is a map based mmorpg and the fact that you can control 3 characters at once without being turn based sets it apart from most others mmorpgs.

    PK/Colony wars
once clans declare war on each other. the two clans will appear hostile to each other in all maps except for the cities. Faction war is basically the same thing except its between republicans and royalists. once you declare a war against another clan only way to end it is to sign a truce. faction wars/ colony wars are available on both pvp and pve servers.

short videos of few of the many characters/gameplay (in the game u control 3 characters at once, you are not forced to play 3 characters at once and can always switch from playing 1, 2, or 3 characters depending on how you feel.) When you first start out, you are restricted to only stock characters. The farther you go through the game, the more UPCs (recrutiable npcs) you will gain. Unlike most games, there is almost no character customization when you start. However, there are numerous wigs, glasses, costumes, and back costumes available as items within the game. So this game does have diverse character appearances.

lol the pvp look so funny.

I remember my friend played this game and he said the PVE is awesome, but didnt mention much about the PK system. From those videos, it seems like a pain in the ass to micro manage in PK.

i like the pve too. it does get repetitive to some extent. As for pvp, im long way from it and cant really comment on it. I have to lvl and gear up first otherwise i would just be a 1hit. But yeh you need alot of micromanaging for pvp. I would say majority of the players don't know how to micro manage or at least are not efficient at it.

There are like 30+ status effects you can get too that can substantially help in pvp such burn, blind, fear, freeze, paralyze, stun, petrify, silence, sleep. They can do anything from preventing movement, slow your movement, preventing character from being rezzed, and preventing item or skill usage. And ofc there are numerous buffs (increase hp, resistance, dmg, atk speed, def, etc). In addition, 1-2 characters have the ability to become invulnerable for few seconds and wizards are able to cast invis on your entire party. There are a a lot of different tactics you can pull, but since the game is also gear based it will be hard to win unless you can meet the same gear as your opponents or close to it.

    this quote summarizes pk
Baron Mode is also known as "Forced Attack" or Player Killing (PKing). This mode of PvP does not have to be accepted by a target family. Baron mode is available for families on PK servers (currently Bristia and Illier in SotNW) after they reach Family Level 5. To Enter Baron Mode, right-click on another family over fam lvl 5 and select "Enter Baron Mode". Both you and your target family are removed from your squads, and now EVERYONE can attack you, even your clanmates. Baron PKing causes Exp loss to characters that are killed, however, Baron families lose more exp upon death than their targets. Barons also drop items upon death.

Baron mode has different Levels depending on how many characters the family kills. Each kill gives Baron Value which is like points (you can see them on Alt+R). Your first kill after Entering Baron Mode gives you 2000 Baron Value automatically. Each subsequent kill gives you additional points equal to the level of the person you killed (If you kill a level 50 character, you get 50 Baron Value, if you kill an Expert level 3 character you get 112 Baron Value). Baron Level is assigned based on Baron points and gives you buffs like so:

    • Baron level 1 - 1 baron points. Buff: ATK +5%, DEF -5. Red skull appears overhead.
    • Baron level 2 - 2500 baron points. Buff: ATK +10%, DEF -10. Red skull with ring appears overhead.
    • Baron level 3 - 5000 baron points. Buff: ATK +15%, DEF -15.
    • Baron level 4 - 10000 baron points. Buff: ATK +20%, DEF -20.
    • Baron level 5 - 20000 baron points. Buff: ATK +25%, DEF -25. Pulsing, glowing red skull with ring appears overhead.

When a character of a Baron family is killed, it loses Exp and the family drops an item from its inventory to the ground; at higher baron levels the likelihood of a valuable item drop increases. Above Baron Level 2, the item dropped may be an equipped item. (You never drop any item that is described as "cannot be dropped, traded or sold", like Ancestral gear.) This way you could lose your most valuable gear, so watch your Baron Value and be careful!

As long as you have Baron Value, you remain hostile to all players. You can reduce your Baron Value by killing monsters. At 0 Baron Value you lose your baron mode (or if you enter baron mode but don't kill anyone, the mode automatically cancels after a few minutes or when you wipe or change zone).
alot of people only target afk exping players mainly because they are afraid of losing items. so i decided to play the pve server mainly cuz of the drama and the larger population. If ever i want to kill someone and if he or she is in a clan, then I can simply just declare war against the clan kill the person. so Im not actually missing out on too much.

this game was too difficult for me to get use to. dont like the way you control the character and the pk system. other than that the game was good.

Sword 2 was updated to version 5.0.23 about a week ago. One of the many updates included the release of 3 new recruitable npcs. The following videos include these UPCs and their expert stances.
