Why should i devote my time to get these USD prices correct when i have my own section to MOD? I rather find scammers then do this. I do not babashop so I have no clue what USD prices are. You think we have a book or something with all prices in value to everything?

If someone wants to do this i can keep a pinned topic and update it everytime but if i don't get a PM with the updates then i wont do it. (Ares)

i think it is pretty easy to tell the approximate usd/igc currency. all you have to do is go to moradon, look at some scroll prices. and since you know the prices of scrolls in KC and you know the price of KC in USD, you can easily calculate the currency.

alternatively you can just check a few "S>GB's" posts, on your market section. lets say there are 3 active topics. 1 sells for 10$ the next for 11$ the 3rd for 12$, you average these, and come to a result which is 11USD per GoldBar. is this so much work? repeat this process every 3 days or so.

oh and btw, vandy, you dont have to babashop in order to know what usd prices are. you just need common sense thats all.
my post title "Ebayers/Babashoppers needed" is just an attention grabber. i could have used "porno inside, take a look" instead, but i figured this would get the most views.

I know what you mean with common sense about prices. Ofcourse i know what prices are for like rocs/rols/gb's.

Hey codex if you want to do this thing every 3 days for Ares section be my guest :P
As for the alternative way. Thats what i do, i get PM's about how much gb's are in USD and i tell them.
Really no need to have a topic pinned just for GB's but if someone who knows prices/values wants to give me a list of everything in prcies ect. ill pinn that, but no one has ever PM'ed me about it

ppl can do easy business in KO and earn lots of cash for it and I can give u an example:

1. buy a RoL +1 for $120
2. sell the RoL +1 for IGC for 24gb
3. go sell the 24gb for $10 per 1gb
4. u earn ur self $240 after selling those gb's

almost 100% profit and i know few ppl who earned over $4000 by doing that [/b]
lmao i actually thought of doing that :P but theres always the consideration of scammers and chargeback-ers :P which will take a portion out of your profits :P but bleh... i cbf spending all that time... now that i'll be in university next year :P

for the person u know that earned over 4k, how long did it take him? and how much $$ did he hafta invest most of the time?

hmm so lets take akara for example

3200 knight cash is $40
scrolls are what 175kc?
they sell between 12.5m and 15m
needing the price of 1 kc would result in 40/3200=0.0125
0.0125*175=2.18$ per 12 mill :S
so 100mill would be $18,16

if i made any mistakes :P forgive me i hate maths :P

but u mean this with using scroll prices?

Hey all,

I think the idea is a bit wierd onr but yea we can do this if we atleast roam around in moradon once in a day.

As Codex said he would need volunteers from each server i would like to volunteer for keeping a price tab on Carnac West.

I would love if some one else would also come up from Carnac West so we can discuss and try to keep a list.

<3 Ko4life.......... You people never say no.. :P

great we have our first volunteer. thanks alhena.

here are some useful guidelines:

1) in the currency topic you should detail the way you were calculating the currency.
2) be consistent: stick to the way you evaluated the currency. if you still wanna make some changes, make them gradual over time, so no sharp
changes will be detected because of this, and also be sure to write any changes you make in the topic.
3) the results you need to keep track of are just currency and date.
4) you can display results with excel or any other program that can create charts, in excel all you need to do is create an x/y scatter chart type, x axis
is date, and y axis is currency. connect the dots with a line and there you go. if you have more knowledge in excel you can also use the y error bars
function to show the possible range of the currency for each day. see example below
5) crediting: anyone who contributes to this process should be properly credited in the currency topic.

here is a quick example using microsoft excel:

you can make a chart for each month, so the data will be clear on a picture. also keeping monthly averages for each chart can show slow trends.

btw apocalyps, thats exactly what i mean with using scroll prices. of course there is a question, of kc price, one can buy alot of kc cheap, or even use the kc they get with prem, so the kc/$ transition isnt accurate enough. im sure as things progress, more experienced players will find a quick and easy method to calculate currency, which will include many factors (scrolls, gb's, trinas etc...), and thus making it much more accurate. but for now, gb prices is the simplest fastest way to go.

Well theres no problem with the ammount of kc u buy since all kc equals 1kc 0.0125

so if ud get 800 kc through a premmy that would also work the same

If we find out how to calculate it or what values we gotta use i wont mind doing the part for the akara market

ps.

For the graphic chart, i think its easier to take the price of 1gb/$
and not to use days but weeks, if so even months , cuz with days ull just keep a flat line

Also ull need to decide what price u take, the cheapest or the highest. If u take the price from scrolls ull need to decide what price u take, as i stated earlier on akara u can sell hp/ac scroll between 12.5m and 15m

Also every volunteer should use the same way to calculate the currency and the same items
for example, akara c-west and c-east would choose to use the hp scrolls while diez and ares take trinas to decide currency with

back when i played ko you could have bought more kc for less money. i guess it was changed.

the currency for akara (for now) is about 12$, according to gb prices in ko4life. thats why the scroll calculation you made, with a 18$ result is a bit off.
i think you can make a calculation like this:
75% is made up on gb prices
25% is made up on scroll prices (like you did)

this would give a stable result not only affected by ko4life market, but also by the ingame market.

since im not so familiar with the game today, im leaving the calculation thing for you guys to figure out. over time minor tweaks will be made, and it will be much more accurate. but for now you can go ahead and start akara with the way i listed above.

ok i made some changes, the prices of scrolls hp or ac are 144 kc a piece ( not 170 as i said before :P)
on the akara market they sell between the 12 and the 15 mil
taking 13.5mill as avarage price i get this formula
as stated before 1kc is 0.0125$
so

0.0125*144=$1.8
1.8/13.5=0.1333
0.13*100=13.33

so 100gb would be $13,33 this is the avarage ammount 100gb should cost in usd based on scroll prices
this price is also very close from what ive found on the akara market section
there u can buy gbs for inbetween 12 and 15$

around 4~5 months cause i havent seen him lately for a while now maybe he is busy spending the cash he got

i remember he always throw like 100~400$ on buying stuff depending in the seller trust ability and he always get profit from buying/ selling gb's.
But u gotta know the IGC prices and $ price to compare b4 buying a thing. Also buy Rogue/Warrior items mostly cause they sell faster in game for coins ^_^

So much profit to be made off the game.
The only problem is that it's so addicting.

I end up spending $200 on a good deal to make profit off of it, and then i'm like "hey... I could use these items..."
oh god no

apocalypse, your formula seems great, and gives a good result (forget the 75%/25% distribution yours is much better). i think you should go ahead and start the project in akara.

about the update frequency, the more the better, but once or twice a week seems reasonable. as long as you keep the date of each update, it will be fine.

about the range issue, you can pick the average value, and in excel add Y error bars. for example:

scroll usd price: 0.0125*144=$1.8
average value: 1.8/13.5=0.1333
minimum value: 1.8/15=0.12
maximum value: 1.8/12=0.15

average value: 0.1333*100=13.33$/GB
minimum value: 0.12*100=12$/GB
maximum value: 0.15*100=15$/GB

so the usd currency is 13.33$/GB with a possible error of about +/-1.5$/GB.
you can enter the 1.5 error value to excel and the chart will show like the chart i posted as an example on page 2 (where each value has a region of error in the Y axis)
