you got 32 / 64 / 128 / 256 / 512 etc sticks . You try making 504 out of them.

as said above RAM does NOT speed up your Internet what it does do is speed up the time your computer takes to read swap files and process data also if you have a few programs open it will help with them . you will not see a difference with most of
the pc just in some cases where you need a lot of of process power , also more than 1 stick of Ram is best the processing chip can access faster 2 sticks in parallel rather than 1 big stick. and theres no point buying 2gb of ram if your pc can't support it stick to what it can take the rest is just wasted

You must really know nothing about computers if you think ram has anything to do with download speed.. LOL[/b]
stop making a fool of yourself <_<

try downloading on a 64mb ram pc,,, the difference between 1gig ram and 64mb ram is very easy to see...

Sorry for the enormous offtopic here but:

When it comes to downloading on a PC running lets say Windows XP, you're not gonna see any difference in speed depending on your RAM-amount. the standard DDR ~400mHz (or even 333) is fast enough to temporarily store your download cache at even 100mbit, you don't need more than 512 for that. The one single piece of hardware that actually MAY affect the speed of your download may be the harddrive. A old harddrive using IDE-100 for example is more likely of slowing you down than the ram.
And to all those who actually opened a computer and thought to themselves "yes! I know computers, I'll answer here" : Yes, RAM does affect the overall performance of your computer, just not to downloading (too small clusters).

Two 512 sticks are better than one 1024 because they work in dual channel unlike one stick which works in single channel.

Assuming they have dual channel support and put the rams in different channels
(I've seen people put 2 ram modules in slot 1 and 2, and not getting any use of the dual channel :P )
