So from 30 blue (in all time total) I've kept this belt and a dread shield.
I think the other items may of paid for the gems but that could be selective gambler memory.

As someone stated already even tho hellis is 100% failsafe - you still do miss and only do 400+ elemental dmg a fair bit especially on isiloon and hi def > dodge mobs.

I have seen myself doing for example 20 dmg with R and then 20 dmg with judgment on several occasions, both R and skill "failed" but its supposed to be failsafe-I didn't even get elemental dmg. My weapon did have elemental so its not like i had a reduced one or something. Is this only me?
Maybe the mob you attacked had elemental resistance so it reduce your missed attack to 20 dmg
