rofled at that, HAHAHAHAHA  are u retardeD? so u are basically saying if u live near california u have faster connection than some1 who lives in poland or israel[/b]
im not retarded. but i know you'll regret that comment. it's correct the distance between server and player (you) is a part of lag, not the only reason but a reason.

    example. go on speedtest.net
first connect to a server nearly to you and then go on a big distance later and your latency will be higher.

mostly distance isnt a cause of lag. cause if i send an email from mexico and russia both at same time to some1 in canada, he will recieve them both at same time. the lag depends on ur provider. Most turks using TTnet which is the cheapest in turkey and they complain about it.

    Causes of abnormal delay

    Inadequate network performance
Packets can be dropped or delayed by a congested or poorly designed network, or by distances that are too great for certain applications.

    Inadequate server processing power
The server may have more work to do than it can handle. Examples include too many users to service, a word that's too complex to handle, or too many complex events from too many users at once.

    Inadequate client computer processing power
The user's computer may not be fast enough to handle the processing load. This load includes handling the communications with the server, processing the user's input, and (significantly) drawing the scene. Very complex simulated worlds have a dramatic impact on client performance (usually measured as client frame rate). In addition, other programs and software can use computing power on the client machine.

    Packet reordering and retries
Many communications protocols, especially those involved in on-line real-time gaming, require packets to be reassembled in order. If the network reorders the packets (which it is allowed to do), some protocol implementations drop the out-of-order packets and rely on packet retries. This causes delays in communications that is much greater than the network latency.

could you explain that in your own words, instead of copy pasting? also 3/4 of that stuff is useless.. only helping part there is "Inadequate network performance"
