I'm not in favor of it, but woulnd't you rather test drugs and medical procedures first than to do it in animals? Let's say one of your loved ones is sick, and scientist are trying to find a cure, but they haven't tested the procedure/drugs yet. Would you rather have your loved one being the one testing the drug or have a rat doing it?

What IS wrong, is to use animals for products that don't help the human kind in a humanitary way, such as cosmetics, biological weapons and others.

Because of ethics alot of scientific work cant be done, or breakthroughs found. Be lucky we're allowed to test on animals to find some cures or ways to help people from suffering. Without testing on dogs and eventually cows, everyone with diabetes would be dead because they never would have found Insulin

I think you're mixing up two different points. Animal testing is completely fine as far as I'm concerned. Thats part of our being on the top of the food chain. We test things on animals to get a fairly good idea about how they will work for humans. Animal cruelty, however, particularly in the area of cosmetics, is inhumane and the people who participate in such an activity should be given a dose of their own medicine, see how they enjoy being skinned alive.
