Quad core is a waste of money atm... the quad cores out now is getting owned by Intel duo core in all tests there is xD except i think there is 1 with some Itune converting where it wins by 0.0001 sec. So i'd say go for a duo core instead

    WTF ?

8800 GTX is top of the line video card right now, with only the overpriced 8800 Ultra beating it
2x means Sli, means i he should have no problem gaming at least on 1920x1200 High with few filters applied on any game avaliable atm

Quad Core aint useless, especially if u got the B0 (or w/e) Stepping that will OC like a madman on water cooling (3.5 Ghz easy i say)

2 GB is pretty good, dnno what brand tho... would like to see if they r good for OC ... if they r just pump to DDR800 and enjoy

1.5 TB is alot of space, but also what brand ?

Sound Card souns good, i ve no idea tho if it is

DVD-R and rest of shit r just accesories

Btw how much is £500 ? Considering 8800 GTX go for 500 or more new, Quad for 266 or so also new... id say its a pretty sweet deal
Considering that might be a 1500+ usd PC (New)

its a waste of money to buy quad core now... you get way to little out of it... i'd rather buy duo core and save alot of money.

Q6600 is pretty cheap right now, and with the right stepping it will blow away any C2D in OC terms

The C2D is alot cheaper than Q6600 :P and you'll get way more performance out of it... The games and programs used at this time isnt really for quad cores :P maybe in a year or something and by that time there will be way better quad cores so i'd still say C2D > Quad for now

Dell dont make anything, its MSI motherboard (usaly), probably Seagate or WD hdd and so one, but its a waste of money to go with the 2 that powerfull g-cards and cpu should be the new 333MHz (1333)

well from what i am reading that you listed it is probably this computer right here:

    http://www.dell.com/content/products/featu...;l=en&s=dhs

that computer is retailed at 5699.00

and 500 euro is equal to 1,000.00 usd if i am correct, so i would snatch it right up, although you can build a custom computer that is much much better then that computer for much much cheaper, that is still an amazing computer ...

I'd never use a Dell computer, even if i get one for free.

Windows vista? what a waste. Vista is crap.

1.5tb is great, so is the vid card.

Just buy that off him, and build the rest yourself, buy the parts needed.
quadcore isnt that great right now, dualcore is still better.

that is what i would do, but do what chemical said, buy a new processor and a 600wat power supply with a new case,motherboard,4gb's namebrand ram or just buy the computer off of him and use it, it aint that bad but there are better computers out there but not for that cheap.
