PS3 VS PC (games wise)

Tell you're pros and cons about both!!
Me and my class mates are discussing what's the best.
My opinion goes for the pc however I want to see what others have to say AND WHY


Like so.
PC
PRO:
Hardware upgradeable //self-explaning
Software upgradeable at all levels //OS, Graphic card, RAM, etc
Able to change settings of graphics,gameplay and consoles/keys

CON:
It's expensive

PS3 (these are the arguments from my classmates)
PRO:
Blu-ray //I personally don't get this part, what does data storage got to do with speed and all?
HD //Again, I don't get it, PC also got HD view
Cheap
Software upgradeable //Is it really that much difference from a pc? =.=

CON: (mine cons)
Hardware is far behind a pc technology
Setting changing are at a low minimum

Now another part is
My pc can't run Batman Arkham Asylum at full settings cause of my CPU
He says, hahahha noob PC, PS3 can run it

Now why does he think the settings of a ps3 are at the highest quality?
Why does he think the PC quality of highest equals to PS3?

PC Pros:
Easy to Upgrade
More Powerfull System (has or can have everything that the PS3 has in hardware and more)
Mouse & Keyboard are superior in some games, some types of games can only be played with the PC successfully
Can Do almost anything including using controllers
Emulators

PC Cons:
More Expensive (unless you download games illegally and go with a budget system)
Controllers can be a pain to setup properly in many games
Some games are Console Only

Software upgradeable at all levels //OS, Graphic card, RAM, etc

PC sucks if you don't want to throw money at it. PS3 go pay and play.

PC :

+ upgradeable hardware
+ hardware for every budget out there

- latest games = good hardware, it's not because a game is made to run on computers that it'll run on your computer
- errors when installing a game
- big & heavy


PS3 :

+ compact
+ PS3 games run smooth on a PS3, no need for a new video card, more ram , ....

- hardware isn't upgradeable (except hdd)

i think you can't really compare the two and say that one is better for games. the pc has a more advanced graphical power (if you put some nice high end cards in it) but that doesn't mean the games look any better then on the PS3.

i prefer to play games such as GTA and race games on the PS and games like counter strike on the pc.

That should be fixed now in the newer generation of consoles and if its not, FUCK THAT, I'll simply buy another of these godly consoles when it dies.

You cant compare new tech with 3 year old tech. When the Ps3 and 360 were first launched, they were on par/better then some of the higher end PCs.

Games runs "smoother" on the consoles then most PCs because thats what they were designed for. Yes if you have a kick ass desktop then the games run smooth. For PCs there lots of things that could get in the way and lower your framerate. Hardware, software running, chosen resolution/video settings. For consoles they are designed to run at one setting, and stick to it

Also mentioned from above, some of the better games are console exclusive

Thats exactly what I tell them... PCs technology has already passed PS3 since you can't update the hardware of ps3s.. yet they're still claiming it pwns pc games graphic wise lol

Only thing console doesn't have that pc's have other then the inability to upgrade . Is Keyboard and Mouse . Until console makers program a keyboard and mouse for there fps titles . People like me will continue to game on the pc . Oh and console mmorpgs are a joke so pc > console for mmos.

I spent over 300 dollars setting up a rig for the xbox 360 to be able to play fps with keyboard and mouse and its still not the same and still not worth it compared to pc fps.

The hardware in the ps3/xbox360 doesn't really matter considering anyone making games today is going to make sure it can play on a ps3/xbox360.
