I feel like the PSKO community is the perfect example of people asking for what they don't want. Farm servers aren't good, short and simple. EXP shouldn't even be a thing. KO is in such a state, that the only servers with decent population are servers that keep people satisfied for a month or 2 at a time. This means that players need to be able to get PvP ready in a very short time or that it has to be effortless. One way of doing this is simply by making "mining servers".

Farming is fun, but PK is always the main attraction in KO. When EUKO launched, the best part of the server was the "quest shells" and old jewels, which made PK really cheap for an official server. You could pretty much get a +7/+8 weapon and just old jewels and pk for the first 2-3 months without spending much cash. Krowaz armor is the worst thing for a server, because it forces everybody to wear it. If you take a look at most Turkish PvP servers, you'll find out that they opt for shells and the "classic" armors instead, which makes mages weaker and melees stronger, but mages never had an issue with that anyway.

My fix for a farm oriented PK server would be old jewels combined with easy to access items, such as high class +8 weapons and shells. Just don't add krowaz armors, they're a waste of time unless everybody can get them without effort. The old jewels would leave room for an economy and upgrading your gear with actual items. Many Turkish servers also skip iron sets completely, because that makes everybody less tanky.

Economy is pretty much the 2nd most important part of any server. I don't understand how people think they can launch servers without a plan for economy, it's fucking stupid. If people play a server and feel like their items don't have a value, they feel like farming is pointless. There are 2 options to go for here. Either you make sure coins are somewhat hard to come by or then you introduce another form of money. on KO4U they had medals, which you could trade for other items and they ended up replacing coins.

tl;dr

1. NO EXP
2. Starter gear that leaves room for improvement (Fuck having +8 sets and iron sets day 1.)
3. NO Krowaz Armors unless they are available for everybody relatively easy (Like mining during invasion etc.)
4. Stable economy and items with monetary value.

You should probably be looking at max 1 week for PK-ready gear for new players and people should be able to PK day 1 when they initially start after the relaunch. Honestly, maybe just make old jewels drop from mining and then have some form of farming for the real stuff.

Fuck mining and opening gems and frags for hours and hours. I like your idea and support it. EXP is no longer needed in a private server since monsters are not even coded to drop decent items to farm or gear up with anyways.

But heh, you come up with good ideas while others are ignoring it since they are to focused on calling eachother assholes.

Well it's good that being a mod isn't a popularity contest. Although, I do believe razor and I were voted to be moderators, which kind of goes against what you're saying. I generally just scoff at people and don't bother myself by replying though, which is probably why less people have issues with me than razor. Voicing opinions while having a position of relative authority is always a bad situation. I don't think razor is in the wrong though, but it's too easy for people to argue with him because they can rely on the "mod-card".

I must say though, usually the losing side is the one that relies heavily on insults rather than arguments. But that's none of my business.

twostars already said that re-launching isn't an option at this moment, so why would we be discussing the server and what it should be? Not to mention, all that stuff is completely subjective and dependent on whether or not you want to be able to AFK all day or if you want to be able to just grind to be #1.

I do like Kallop's idea for a server, and I'd play it, but only in May after finals, I don't have the time nor the effort to even attempt to play a server like that during the year, and I think that's probably similar for most people, so with that in mind they should schedule private server releases around those times if they really want re-launch as little as possible.

You see this explanation you had to give? When would you give it if they just banned you immediately as you made that post? That's the issue; the rules are too ambiguous, so if they were enforced, they would have to be either re-written or mods could just interpret them as they want and go on a banning spree and curve the rules for friends.

And what about people like Manhattan that follow us around and constantly flames us? Would he be banned? What about mods? Are they not allowed to say anything mean either then or do they get banned if they also say something mean?

Not really... It's just that in any other forum or platform, if someone openly flamed a mod like that for absolutely no reason, they'd be permanently banned lol. Something to keep in mind perhaps.

Flaming is not banned by default in ko4life, but I'm deeply against people randomly showing up to a thread with the sole intention of derailing and flaming.
