They announced before they took the server down that it was going to take over 24 hours. Like Nucky's been saying on the forums that there really isn't too much the staff can do since it's DDoS attacks, and the majority of that is going to fall on whoever their dedicated server host is to help block against the attacks. I mean you people need to give it a rest, don't tell me the players on this forum are as impatient as the turks on the OSKO forums, their server files are secure, the only problem they've run into are attacks on the server, which even big companies have been taken down as well. Seriously, I've tried being nice in some of the other topics but some of you guys are getting ridiculous. I completely agree with AlittleGirl, seems like everyone that's been complaining on the forums are ones that have registered this month and are just hopping on the bandwagon at the first sign of something going wrong.
This was Professor's original message when he wrote about the maintenance, you guys really need to learn to read. The reason the staff didn't give any kind of ETA, is because then they're expected to meet it. And if any of you used that thing up in your noggin, you'd realize that perhaps it's not all as cut and dry as you think. The server's being hit with DDoS and TCP Spoofed SYN Flooding attacks. And I think that most of that work falls onto their server host's provider blocking attacks, and not the staff themselves. So common sense would tell you that they're probably relying on and waiting on their server host to try to help them with this as fast as they can. (which usually isn't that fast in my experience)
I understand everyone's frustration and that you all want to play KO, but really? Adonis has been up for a year and a half and that should show you that the staff won't give up. I think what also has to do with it, is alot of you guys play on every new farm server launch, and for the past year or so, all of them have failed hard. (I.E. KOTastic, X6KO, Knight Imperia, etc.) Maybe with all of that unreliability and dishonesty from those admins, you all grew to jump the gun so quickly when there's some extended downtime. The OSKO staff isn't going to give up like the rest, their server files are secure, so nothing is going to happen like all of the other private servers, they just need to get through this wave of DoS attacks and everyone's going to be happy as hell.
You guys also need to remember that this is still a private server, and as professional as this staff is, it could pass off as good as USKO's. Hell, I'm sure most of you guys here have played USKO, don't any of you remember the extended downtimes and problems their server launches have had over the years? You all just need to chill out, smoke a doobie, and when Professor has some worthy news to say, he'll let everyone know.
