It's not that POP3 doesn't save on server side. It's that Outlook, by default, will delete the message on the server after it has downloaded it.
I always turn that stupid "feature" off before I let it connect.
I seriously doubt you'll be able to restore the files after a format. If anything, it's stupid to be installing ANYTHING on the drive, if you're trying to recover something from it. You're overwriting any old information that might be on that drive every time you write to it.
how do I turn off that feature in outlook? :x
i'm just hoping I can get it tho, After my format Outlook only has 139 emails, and the software has found 234 files so far, its only searching for Outlook files as well so nothing else will be coming up.
Wont know till I get home from work tonight
i can try get some of those hard drive recovery programs if you need
we'll see, I scanned for "general email files" when I should have been looking for "Outlook Express emails" ( different file extensions ) so having it scan again before I go to sleep, last one took at least 4 hours and this ones only been going for 40 mins.
I'll find out in the morn
when i read this topic i tried that...
i couldnt find any...
hope aint the same for u, gl
