Why frown about this? US is not a democracy it's a republic. So was Rome and so are most of todays governements.

Democracy comes from the Greek words Δημος=Demos=People and Κρατω=Crato=Lead/command. It happens when the people have power and command over their own goverments. The US being a group of states bound by economic relationships and run by them cannot really be called democracy.

And donnot tell me you actually believe that the people in the US have real power over their governments i will not be able to stop louphing for a week.
